UM6P: a strengthened HR strategy

Supported by Arago, UM6P uses SAP SuccessFactors to strengthen its strategy

WITH THE TESTIMONY OF MOHAMED TASSAFOUT, Chief Human Capital Officer UM6P

Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is a unique ecosystem that transcends the boundaries of higher education. At the crossroads of technological innovation, scientific research, industry, hospitality, and many other fields, the university embodies a modern and agile vision of knowledge management, skills, and talent development.

With more than 3,000 employees from over 40 countries, an average age of 33, and a nearly equal gender balance, UM6P values youth, diversity, and academic excellence. Special attention is given to the Moroccan diaspora, with a clear desire to reconnect talent from around the world with the dynamic African continent.

The HR challenges facing UM6P are fully in line with major global changes: strengthening the attractiveness and retention of talent in a competitive environment, supporting the technological transformation of practices, activating skilling dynamics, and promoting a resolutely agile, responsive, and efficient organization.

The need for HR digitization

UM6P chose SAP SuccessFactors in particular to streamline its HR processes and virtualize administrative tasks, while offering a more intuitive employee experience. The integration of SuccessFactors enables the collection and analysis of relevant data, thereby supporting HR decision-making.

Arago played a key role as integrator and advisor, listening to the needs of UM6P, configuring the SuccessFactors modules, and training internal teams. Their support was crucial to the success of the HRIS project.

Thanks to SAP SuccessFactors, we have improved our efficiency in recruitment and HR data utilization. The solution also allows managers to monitor recruitment processes in real time alongside HR teams, promoting greater collaboration and faster decision-making. SuccessFactors has also proven to be a great help during the COVID period, ensuring the continuity of our activities despite the constraints we have faced.

To ensure the success of an HRIS project, it is essential to have management support, engage user teams, support the transformation process, choose a trusted partner, and remain agile in order to anticipate changes in tools.

The future of the HR function

The UM6P is considering increasing automation of repetitive tasks and the use of artificial intelligence to improve the employee experience, support scientific and academic performance, and strengthen its status as a center of excellence and innovation.
